Unclaimed Money

Just a reminder to everyone out there, there is an organization that helps people locate unclaimed money belonging to them. It could be utility desposits you forgot about, insurance payouts you never got, whatever....
Here is the website you should visit: http://www.unclaimed.org/
You never know, I just found an expense check I didn't get from when I worked for Nordstroms...
And apparently, my brother has a matured certificate he obviously forgot about (ROSS!!!!)
And my brother-in-law is owed something from an insurance company (BOB!!!!)
:-)
Good luck and happy hunting....
Don't forget to look for your friends and family too, they'll thank you!

Our Trip To Montana

This past weekend we drove to Billings, Montana to watch
the Treasure State Spelling Bee as Morgan was competing in it.
This was the first notable thing I saw.
Sort of felt like Dorothy when she says to Toto,
"I don't think we're in Kansas anymore."
Thursday night:
This was Fourth of July Pass at 3:30 AM on Friday morning.
As I am driving down this pass- tired as all get out having been up for 21 hours at that point, snow falling hard enough to make visiblity low-I see a sign that reads: Watch for wild game standing in road. Are they kidding? Luckily, I didn't encounter any.
Day 1: Friday
Cross Montana's border. Check!
Get a speeding ticket. Check!
Take a picture. Check!
This is the view just over the Montana state line. Beautiful!
The kids at one of the many stops we made along the way.
4:00 PM- Ahhh, finally to the hotel.
This is Jarom playing in the pool at the hotel.
Jarom again.
Isaiah jumping to Jarom.
Brendan jumping to Jarom.
All three of the kiddos in the pool.
This is the living area of our hotel room.
And the bedroom area.
And the dining area. My kids are such posers!
Jarom writing Megan a postcard in the work area.
Day 2: Saturday
Spelling Bee. Of course, photography was discouraged as it is distracting.
Lunch at Pizza Hut with the McLean's.
Onto The Reef Indoor Water Park!
Mom suiting Brendan up at The Reef.
Brendan and Jarom.
Isaiah thinks inner tubes are fun stuff!
He also likes the slides.
Two man tubes are cool too.
Temple and me at the Park, watching over the flock-- herd-- tribe, whatever!
Brendan on the slide.
Temple and Teal. Morgan and Erin.
Brendan, Jarom, Isaiah (behind Jarom's head), and Iain. (Iain is the one in the Spiderman trunks. I don't know who the kid in the tube is.)
Day 3: Sunday
This is after church on the toys behind the church.
Brendan on the slide.
Morgan pushes Isaiah on the swing.
After church, we went to Teal and Temple's home and had a meal with them. The kids played at the school playground across the street while Temple and I took at drive and she showed me the sights. It was nice to be able to visit without the distraction of children.
Sunday night, we started the treck home. We stopped in Missoula and stayed the night.
Day 4: Monday
This is the kids in the pool at the Best Western in Missoula.
This is me, pool side. Isaiah took this picture.

I really enjoyed our visit to Montana. Jarom did too. He and Iain hit it off so fast and well that Jarom didn't want to leave. Isaiah and Brendan had so much fun swimming and playing that I think they really enjoyed our trip too. The only part that wasn't so fun for any of us was all the driving. I loved seeing all the scenery. I didn't love the whining and fighting from the back seat.

Pine Wood Derby Prep & Our Evening at the Epperson's!

Tony and Jarom in the shop.
Jarom sanding his Derby car.
(And obviously disgusted that I wanted a picture!)
Jarom and Tony.
Jarom at home putting the first coat of paint on.
Tony told him it had to have ten coats of paint to look good.
Jarom took him seriously.
On the way home from the Epperson's, he figured out that he would need to do a coat of paint tonight, and three each on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
(Thursday is the day of the Derby!)
Therefore, the ONLY solution as far as Jarom could see was to stop by Home Depot on the way home and get the highly desired green spray paint.
(I have orange and purple, but they weren't going to cut it!)
Lookin' good, Kiddo!
Other non-Derby related pictures from our evening with the Epperson's include:
The wildlife of University Place.
Monkeys over take Tony's truck.
Man, it was good to see Max again.
The boys didn't want to leave!
Isaiah wearing Tony's headphones in the shop.
Playing on Max's ride on toy.

The Ants

What in the world could possibly be so interesting?
Ahhh... Haaa!
I guess that ant bed I thought I took care of last summer isn't so "taken care of" afterall.

Isaiah: Mom, I hant to hatch the hants. (want to watch the ants.)
Brendan: Me get it Mom. Frow it in the trash?
Isaiah: NOOOOOOOOOOO! Me hatching it!
Mom: Let him watch the ant.
Brendan: OK.
The boys each pick an ant that is "theirs" and watch the ants "race."
Did you know blowing ants make them go faster?
Isaiah figured that out when his guy wasn't winning.
Isaiah: My hant is head, Mom. Kiss him hetter.
Mom: Mommy doesn't kiss ants, Son.
Brendan: Me will.
Mom: NOOOOOO! It's time for the ants to go back outside so they can find their Mommies and go to bed. OK?
Isaiah: Me have a hinter.
Mom: A what?
Isaiah: A hinter. (Holds out his hand and points.)
Mom: A splinter?
Isaiah: Yes.
Mom: Got it! Now to get those ants "home!"

Conversation a few nights back....

Mom: Guys, the babies want you to play with them.
Cartier: We are. They like it when we run from them. I do it to Chai all the time.
Jarom: Yeah Mom, they like it!
Cartier: It's a game to them, plus we don't have to play with them then.
~~Short of breath, Isaiah and Brendan finally catch up!~~
Isaiah: Mom, Bubba hot haying wish me. (Not PLaying wiTh)
Brendan: Yeahhhh... Me either.
Mom: Guys, please play with the babies.
Brendan: Duhhhh... Mom said!
Isaiah: HaHa!.. Mom head (said)
Jarom: OK, let's play "chase."
Cartier: You guys chase us. Ready? Set. Go!
~~Jarom and Cart take off like a flash.~~
~~Brendan and Isaiah take off after them, laughing all the way!~~
...((Good thing I stepped in!)) ...

The DURING pictures of the house getting painted.

The back side of the house.
In all it's glory!
The BAD side of the garage.
Keith was none too happy with me on this day!
Sorry, Keith! ;-)

First coat of paint is on.
No worries, the blue is going away too!
Jeremy did a great job picking the colors, yes?
Close up of the back of the house.
The color looks a little grey here, but it is actually a creamy off white color.
The entire back side.
Ahh, you can see the color a lot better in this picture.
